		<description>Hi Karl,

Nice bit of reportage and digging here regarding the missing plaque and the ambiguity around making cosmetic changes to a building with protected status.

We&#039;ve been looking at plaques at risk ourselves recently on our blog, with George Boole&#039;s plaque and former home in Cork being a case in point as the site has been put up for sale to developers in Feb 2012 despite being on the Cork City register of protected structures.

On a more positive note, we&#039;ve recently had a photo of a Bram Stoker plaque at 30 Kildare St added to our website by one of our regular contributors in Dublin, so it seems that the plaque is back, or alternately its successor has arrived... I wonder will we ever know what actually happened.

It&#039;s listed along with three other plaques for Stoker in London and Whitby here:
http://openplaques.org/people/382

In broader terms, it would be good to know who is now responsible for overseeing these plaques as I believe Dublin Tourism is no longer in existence but has been completely folded into Failte Ireland as of January this year. Maybe Failte Ireland could let us know if they are now the caretakers of these historical markers, or if not, who is?

<description>Thank you for the story! I&#039;ve been listening to the song by Peter Yeates for 15 years and it&#039;s good to hear more of the details.

		<description>Thanks Luke,
I&#039;ll try and search out that radio programme you mention - sounds very interesting.
Here&#039;s a video of Perec being interviewed about Belleville and rue Vilin: www.ina.fr/art-et-culture/litterature/video/I04272352/le-belleville-de-georges-perec.fr.html
best,
